The global semiconductor industry has undergone significant shifts in recent years. Geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, and increasing demand for advanced technologies are reshaping the landscape. Southeast Asia, particularly Vietnam, has emerged as one of the key players in the “China Plus One” strategy, attracting significant foreign direct investment to bolster its semiconductor manufacturing capabilities.
To engage with this growing market, we participated in SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024, co-exhibiting with FPT Semiconductor, a local IC design house. This strategic partnership allowed us to gain valuable insights into the local semiconductor ecosystem, directly from experienced Vietnamese engineers and industry leaders. Then, we headed to Tokyo to participate in SEMICON Japan in December. Led by our Japan team members, we reinforced our brand presence with STS8200 and STS8300 series, the go-to test systems for analog, power module, and digital testing solutions.
Japan, once a semiconductor powerhouse, is now revitalizing its industry with government support and industry collaboration. According to Statista, mainland China remains the dominant player in the Asia-Pacific semiconductor market, with an export value of approximately $61.4 billion in 2023. However, countries like Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Japan, in sequence, are rapidly gaining traction.
Aligned with the current semiconductor landscape, our participation in these two major trade shows reflected our commitment to strengthening our presence in the Asian semiconductor market. By engaging with customers, partners, and industry experts, we aimed to foster collaborations and drive innovation. We were excited about the future of the semiconductor industry in Asia and looked forward to contributing to its continued growth and success.
